As a Carpenter/Drywaller with First General Grey Bruce, you will assist homeowners in rebuilding their lives following their flood, fire, smoke, odour, mould, or other property loss.

The candidate will have a strong skill set applicable to the Residential Construction and Restoration industry and a knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
We are seeking a motivated individual with technical experience in conventional framing, drywall, and finish carpentry, window and door installations. Abilities in mathematics for measurements and conversions and the skills to determine materials needed for different jobs. The successful candidate will be able to work independently or in a team environment, have the ability to troubleshoot problems and conflict resolution.

Property Restoration Technician
As a Restoration Technician with First General Grey Bruce, you will assist homeowners following their flood, fire, smoke, odour, mould, or other property loss. We hire only "rock-stars" to join our elite team of trained technicians! You must have a keen eye and willingness for doing the job right the first time, compassion and understanding for our homeowners suffering a loss, and a desire to grow your skills!
Because the property loss at each home is different, no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will vary from mitigating a loss including conducting moisture tracking, removal of debris, establishing drying requirements and putting that plan into place. You will monitor job sites, making adjustments along the way. Other days, you will assist with a board up of doors and windows following a fire loss, work on a team to remove damaged materials and/or assist in packing in/out contents. Once a home is ready for the rebuild stages, you may assist in a large variety of construction duties. This job keeps you always looking for best practices, critical thinking and providing top-notch execution.
We work Monday - Friday 7:15-4:30... but accidents happen in homes 24/7, therefore we have a rotating oncall schedule with financial perks!
Qualifications include:
- valid and insurable driver's licence
- clean back ground check
- high school diploma or equivalent
- English speaking and writing
- familiar and comfortable working with hand tools/small power tools (ie: drill, sawsall)
- positive attitude

Join our team in Hanover as a Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Technician. During your day, you will meet clients in their homes or business, and bring life back to their carpets and furniture through a steam cleaning process!
We will train!
Applicants must be self-driven, have the ability to provide exceptional customer service and detail oriented and must have a valid and insurable drivers license.

- Meet with clients prior to cleaning
- Complete cleaning of carpets, tile, and/or upholstery in client homes
- Provide Scotch guard, antimicrobial or deodorizing application
- Estimate cleaning jobs for residential and commercial clients.
- Upsell products and services
- In-plant cleaning completed in a timely manner
- Complete Estimates and Invoices utilizing House call Pro
- Maintain Vehicle and Equipment, repairs and maintenance as needed
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area in the shop.
- Provide training to new technicians when necessary
- Cross Train with our Property Restoration Division (First General)
- Participate in rotating On Call.
- Measurements using a tape and basic math skills required
- Excellent verbal communication skills are a must.
Familiarity with Mobile Device and technology an asset.

- IICRC training considered an asset (WRT, FSRT)
- Proficient software skills - Microsoft office suite, Xactimate and Xactanalysis
- Strong knowledge of residential/commercial construction techniques and current building codes

- Must be available to be on call evenings and weekends (on rotation)

The Assistant Project Manager provides full time support to the Senior Project Manager and/or Project Manager and frequently interacts with the clients, consultants and contractors. S/he is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of our services are being delivered to the highest level to ensure client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

College Diploma or certification in a recognized construction/carpentry course preferred.
5 Years’ experience with a proven track record in residential construction or the restoration industry preferred.
Working at Heights required – will provide if necessary.
Participation in a Rotating on Call Schedule is mandatory.
Ability to lift 50lbs is required.
Experience in the restoration or construction industry an asset.

He/She interacts with many customers on a daily basis, and works with the Project Management team. He/She reports to the Operations Manager and is under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor.
A willingness to learn new skills, strong motivation to complete tasks and a good attitude is a must!
