Our History

The Durrer Group Inc. was founded by Richard Durrer, as Durrer Carpet and Upholstery Steam Cleaning (DCS).  As the leading service provider in Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth and Wellington counties.

DCS expands their services to include water and smoke damage cleanup.

Richard opened its flooring retail division to accompany the cleaning and restoration divisions, by supplying and installing quality floor coverings.

Growth continues in all divisions of The Durrer Group Inc. Richards son; Jeff Durrer, joins the company.  

Jeff’s wife, Jennifer, joins the family business.

The Durrer Group Inc., becomes a First General Property Restoration network member.

Richard retires and Jeff becomes president and CEO of the company. Jeff and Jen Durrer continued to operate and develop the family business with a strong focus on growth and its people.

Jeff and Jennifer, acquire the Kitchener-Waterloo region territory from First General Canada. An 18 000 square building is purchased in Kitchener, with a state of the art contents processing facility created.

An office and warehouse are purchased in Owen Sound, to service northern Grey-Bruce up to and including Tobermory.

On January 19th, 2021, the founders of Durrer Group and Owners of First General Hanover and Owen Sound, Jeff and Jen Durrer, transferred their legacy to the TruStone Group. This transition brings renewed energy and continued commitment to exceptional service, as the TruStone Group upholds the standards set by the Durrers.
